Overview

Oxygen Tunic (Tunic aeolian). A tunicate with a radioactive core (uranium, radium, or thorium) that powers its metabolism through radiolysis — splitting seawater into hydrogen and oxygen. Consumes the hydrogen; releases oxygen into the surrounding water. Emits a distinctive blue glow from Cherenkov radiation exciting luminescent pigments. Demonstrates that life on this world doesn't depend on photosynthesis like Earth's deep-sea ecosystems. Players can use it as an emergency oxygen source — but repeated use could lead to radon buildup with serious health risks including cancer. Use sparingly.
