Overview

Cabbage Shootroot. A robust bottom-dwelling organism anatomically similar to a plastic starfish, or an opened variety of Earth's extinct blastoids. Hard calcified arms are covered in a biopolymer called polyproteovinyl, creating its characteristic cabbage-leaf texture. Does not eat directly — instead transfers minerals gathered by its roots to a symbiotic partner, receiving food in exchange. A second set of arms digs into the seabed. Possesses a distinctive circular nerve cord. Warning: do not sit on one.
